Seeds of Spring: A Woman’s 40 Day Devotional

Day 23
Planting and Tending Your Garden
SEED OF TRUTH
Read Ephesians 4:25-28.
Read this passage carefully and then consider which command is being directed at you today and then make the choice to come up under that truth and walk in it. Ask Christ for His help to take that truth to heart. As you do, confess anything that you might need to confess to Him. What have you said, thought, or done that was wrong?
PLANT THE SEED
Quietly recite today’s focus verse to yourself. Hide it in your heart and meditate on it throughout the day.
Ephesians 4:25
“Therefore, having put away falsehood, let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor, for we are members one of another.”
WATER THE SEED
Going through great trials can take their toll. Difficult circumstances can make you more vulnerable to sin. Peter says to cast all of your anxieties upon Christ for “the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour” (1 Peter 5:8). Don’t try to walk alone. Be diligent to find another believer to share the journey with. Make time to be in community. The sheep that wanders from the flock gets caught in a thicket, becomes the prey of wolves, or gets lost.
Spend a few moments thinking about the truth that as Christians we are all members of one body, Jesus Christ. Psalm 51 comes to mind. David says that when he sinned, he sinned against God, and God alone! This verse helps us understand why! We are all members of one another – all members of Christ’s body! When we lie to one another, we are lying to Jesus. When we are unkind to one another, we are being unkind to Jesus. Lord, help us see all the ramifications of this truth today as we meditate on this scripture. Reveal your truth!
BEAR THE FRUIT
Members of one another, of Christ’s body.
CLOSE IN PRAYER
Ask the Lord to bring to life all that has been planted in your heart today.

Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another. Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Neither give place to the devil. Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.

We call ourselves Christians, Jews, Muslims

We call ourselves Christians,  we  call ourselves  Jews, we call ourselves  Muslims, but are we calling ourselves children of God? We fight over land, that when we die and we all must die, we become part of it. We fight over money, that when we die we can’t  take it with us. We fight over race, when you look close under the skin, we pump red blood, we have one heart, a set of lungs, a set of kidneys,  a liver and so on, when we die are the same. We fight over religion. When there is only one God. When we die as we must we hope, pray, desire, dream to be with God. We fight over nationality. Why when we all are descendents of Adam and Eve.

Jews believe that the Messiah has not come yet. Although some Jews believe he has come and die. The Muslims I’m not quite sure what they believe, that is whether Mohammed is there savior or is he just a prophet? Or is Jesus Christ as savior or a prophet? Not sure on that one. As for Christians we  (l) do believe Jesus Christ has come,  lived, die, and risen again.

Now when will He come again as He said? But we call ourselves Christians,  Jews, and Muslims. I know Jesus  said go and teach all Nations. This I try to do. However, and there is always an however, we who call ourselves Christians, Jews, Muslims, we are not doing what God the Father has commanded. We are not teach God’s commandments; ie, Deuteronomy 6:5-9 Exodus 20: 2-19
And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.  And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:  And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.  And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.  And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.
Deuteronomy 6:5-9 KJV
http://bible.com/1/deu.6.5-9.KJV
I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.  Thou shalt have no other gods before me.  Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:  Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;  And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.  Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.  Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.  Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:  But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:  For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.  Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.  Thou shalt not kill.  Thou shalt not commit adultery.  Thou shalt not steal.  Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.  Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour’s.  And all the people saw the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the noise of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking: and when the people saw it, they removed, and stood afar off.  And they said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we die.

But we call ourselves Christians,  Jews,  and Muslims, we are not doing a shephards job and we are barely sheep. God has called on each of us to do our part, not just sit on the sidelines and hope and wish things away. We have the responsibility to teach all Nations God’s will and law.
Will you join me in spreading the gospel of God? Or will you continue to sit on the sidelines?
